Introducing NEW DocuWare

Written by Ben Greenwood | Oct 23, 2026, 1:30:01 PM

The rollout has begun. New DocuWare (technically known as version 7.15, but don’t be fooled, this is not just another iteration) is being made available to new and existing DocuWare Cloud customers right now.

As a DocuWare Partner we have had early access for several months, experiencing it evolve to the point where it's ready to push to end users.

It has become clear that this is a major upgrade on “old” DocuWare. And I am in love with it.

So what's new and how does it compare to “old” DocuWare; what are the benefits to you?

New User Experience

DocuWare’s biggest problem has always been, in my view, its user interface. Whilst perfectly functional and logical, it was not particularly pleasant to look at or intuitive.

New DocuWare solves that problem, as you can see from the screenshots above. It’s been modernised, with smoother edges and a less severe look.

The focus has shifted from tabs, menus and functions to the documents and data instead - the things you actually work with. Icons replace text, navigation has been moved out of the way and new but unobtrusive tools added.

Yes, for existing, long term users this will take a little getting used to but I'm confident it won't take long to see the benefits. New users will just love it.

DocuWare Aura - AI-driven business intelligence

New DocuWare brings with it DocuWare Aura, your in-built, AI-driven route to valuable, actionable business intelligence.

Aura doesn’t store files or run searches, it surfaces answers across contracts, invoices, emails, HR records and operational documents. The time from question to answer to action is slashed, meaning your business is more agile and more competitive.

DocuWare Aura becomes your business analyst, helping you understand why metrics changed, where issues originate and what to do next.

In short, it promotes your document management software from intelligent to genius!

Watch this video for some fantastic examples.

Aura is available within file cabinet and document views to so you can ask it simple questions too.

As an example, ask "Has the VAT been calculated correctly on this invoice?" when viewing an invoice and Aura will tell you.

Or ask "What is the average salary in the marketing department?" about employment contracts in a HR cabinet.

Most importantly, Aura will only provide answers to users based on their permissions and access rights. Your data is protected internally and externally.

If you are a Keeley Travis/DocuWare customer, get in touch if you would like Aura set up for you once it becomes available in your system.

New DocuWare mobile app

Revamped to reflect the desktop UX, the DocuWare mobile app is available to download from the Apple and Google stores now.

More user friendly, faster (in my experience at least) and a whole lot nicer to use, the mobile app is the perfect supporting actor to DocuWare’s main star and means those on the go can stay on top of things too.

Final Thoughts

Previous new versions of DocuWare introduced new functionality which were not always to the benefit of - or even seen by - the end user.

DocuWare 7.15 - or New DocuWare - is almost entirely focused on the end user experience, in the design and the functionality.

I would urge existing users to switch from classic to new as soon as they are able in order to get used to it and start benefiting.

Users can freely switch between the two, so there's the opportunity to try it, switch back and dip in and out over time until you are comfortable enough to work with New DocuWare. It's not all or nothing!

If you'd like to know more about our document management solution, Aura and Intelligent Document Processing (that's a whole other blog post coming soon) then please get in touch, we'll be happy to demonstrate DocuWare for you.
